We know what’s coming up for women later this year, but what about men’s wear; what do gentlemen have to look forward to when the days get colder and the night’s get longer. Check it out.
Coats, Coats, and More Coats
Seems as though every designer started with winter coats for men. Outerwear designs from Ferragamo highlight a mixture of hard and soft elements in a flowing somewhat long coat. Bally lengthens the puffy explorer’s parka and adds an aviator style hood and a belt at the waist. The classic toggle gets an update from fabrics woven and designed by Woolrich Woolen Mills. Think stadium blanket.
Rugged Day Wear
Taking a cue from militaristic dictators, the khaki uniform gets a redo that makes men feel manly. Bold, buffalo checks in red and black find expression in shirts and jackets. Paired with skinny jeans, the look is a new fusion reminiscent of the androgynous look women will be wearing this winter.
Polished and Refined At Night
While women revisit the forties in style and texture, men see formal wear paying homage to the formal wear that made women swoon in the forties. Classic styling and shining fabric collars and cuffs will be the perfect foil for the elegant forties gown.
Slacks Look Back, Too
Look for the slim slacks that were popular in the fifties and sixties. Suits with slim legged and cuffed pants are hot. The jury is out on girlfriend jeans and pants. Will men embrace their feminine side and adopt this new style? Only time will tell.
Men’s wear sports the biggest change in years this season. Keep a weather eye out for great new looks.
